How it works

Discourse connector imports and indexes content from your Discourse Topics, making it searchable within ASSIST AI.

Setting Up

Authorization

  1. Log in to Discourse Sign in to your Discourse account.
    The account used must have admin privileges.
  2. Open API Keys From the home page, click the Admin menu, navigate to the Advanced sub-menu, and select API Keys.
  3. Create an API Key Click “New API Key” and name it “ASSIST AI.” Set the User Level to “All Users” and the Scope to “Read-only.”
  4. Save and Copy the Key Click Save, then copy the generated key and enter it into ASSIST AI.
  5. Set the API Key Username For the API Key Username field, enter the username of the Discourse account that has access to the content you want indexed.

Indexing

  1. Name the Connector Enter a name for your connector. This is especially useful if you plan to set up multiple Discourse connectors, as it helps you tell them apart.
  2. Provide the Base URL Enter the base URL of your Discourse instance.
  3. Enter Topics to Index Specify the topics you’d like to index. If left blank, all available topics will be indexed by default.
  4. Start Indexing Click Connect to begin indexing the selected topics into ASSIST AI.
