# GitBook

## How it works

The GitBook connector imports all documentation content from the GitBook spaces you specify into ASSIST AI.

## Setting up

### Authorization

1. **Open Developer Settings**
Go to your GitBook account settings and navigate to the "Developers" section at [https://app.gitbook.com/account/developer](https://app.gitbook.com/account/developer).
2. **Create an API Token**
Click "Create new token," give your token a name, and select the appropriate scopes. Click "Create" to generate the token.
3. **Copy and Store the Token**
Copy your token and save it somewhere secure - it will not be displayed again.

## Indexing

1. **Open the GitBook Connector**
Go to the Admin Panel and select the GitBook Connector.
2. **Enter Your API Token**
In Step 1, paste the API token you generated in the Authorization steps above.
3. **Enter Your Space ID and Connect**
Enter your Space ID, which can be found in the URL of your GitBook space (e.g., `https://app.gitbook.com/o/<organization>/s/<space-id>`). Click "Connect" to begin importing your GitBook documentation into ASSIST AI.
