# Freshdesk

## How it works

The Freshdesk connector imports and indexes support tickets from your Freshdesk account into ASSIST AI.

## Setting up

### Authorization

1. **Log in to Freshdesk** — Sign in to your Freshdesk account. The user must be a verified agent, admin, or account owner.
2. **Open Profile Settings** — Click your profile avatar and select Profile Settings.
3. **View Your API Key** — Select "View API Key" to retrieve your key.
4. **Authorize ASSIST AI** — Use your API key along with your domain to authorize your ASSIST AI connector. Note that [the password field is not used when an API key is provided](https://developers.freshdesk.com/api/#authentication) and will be removed in a future update. In the meantime, please enter `abc` in the password field as a placeholder.

**Indexing**

1. **Open the Freshdesk Connector**
   Navigate to the Admin Panel.
2. **Add the Connector**
   Select "Add Connector" from the sidebar and click on the Freshdesk tile.
3. **Create Credentials**
   Click "Create New" and enter your Domain, Password, and API Key, along with an optional name for your credentials.
4. **Save Credentials**
   Click "Create" to save your credentials. They will be automatically selected for use.
5. **Create the Connector**
   Click "Continue," choose a name for your connector, and then click "Create Connector."
6. **Start Indexing**
   Once the connector is created, ASSIST AI will automatically begin indexing your Freshdesk tickets.
